Q4 is usually a period when things wind down, when the fiscal year gets finished and some start to look ahead onto the next calendar. And here I am starting a fresh new venture today because there’s truly no rules out here and our ideas are not attached to any timetables but our own.
Welcome to sub_stance, my newsletter to discover, delineate and dive deep on what’s moving us right now. Media is a weird, collapsing star (not in the beautiful way), so I created this little corner of the substackosphere to fill a void I’ve felt as a lover of cultural analysis with juicy nuance. Plus, I’m really trying to create more of what liberates me.
sub_stance is a place to draft up questions not really being asked. It's a place to metaphorically take that group trip out the group chat. It’s a place to take a stance. Expect exclusive interviews, curated suggestions and even some occasional thique™ op-eds. Some posts will be serious, others not so much. All will be quality. Professionally, I've exclusively covered the world of music for years. sub_stance is about exploring all expressions of culture – fashion, food, books, film, dance etc. And, yea, of course the music, too.
